Apps for Noord-Holland final party

Apps for Noord-Holland
The province of Noord-Holland challenges everyone to built apps this summer using at least one of the data sources of the province. The contest lasts untill September 19th, all apps which meet the requirements have to be handed in that day before 9AM.
Hack de Overheid is going to release datablogs on the data in English as well.
Requirements
- Hand in app using the form before September 19th 9AM
- You have to use at least one of the provided data sources, or use other data found on the website of provincie Noord-Holland .
- The app should at least be a working prototype.
- How many apps you turn in is up to you, you can work in teams or alone
- All sorts of apps may be handed in (web, phone, pad, Facebook etc.)
Prizes
Since a lot of the data contains tourist information about Noord-Holland, there are three prizes you can win in this category; gold, silver and bronze. The municipality of Velsen will hand out a prize of € 1500,- for the best app made with their data. And there are two more prices handed out to contestants using the data from the province of Noord-Holland. Lastly, ten incentives are awarded to promising developers and there is one special price for upcoming talent.
Besides these prizes Mediaguild is going to select 8 app developers who have turned in an app for the contest to offer them a special program. The program includes 2 workshops in which you are taught how to turn your app into a succes.

Code Event
On Saturday the 27th of August, Apps for Noord-Holland organized a Code Event on a unique location: an island not far from Amsterdam called the forteiland IJmuiden. The fortress on the island is part of the defence line of Amsterdam which includes a lot of fortresses and is an UNESCO world heritage site.
The Code Event was a great succes and the crew of Apps for Noord-Holland would like to thank everybody who took part and/or contributed! We are looking forward to the apps after seeing so many great ideas.
